We Are Wyoming Project
The “We Are Wyoming” project combines art, social studies and language arts to embed state curriculum standards into a series of innovative learning activities targeting fourth-graders. Education faculty members Allen Trent, professor of educational studies, and Peter Moran, associate professor of elementary and early childhood education, created the project’s assignments.
The work of six Wyoming artists was used in the project, with students responding to the artwork by writing about it, or creating their own artwork. My painting "Buffalo Bull" was one of the paintings used in the project. Today Dr. Trent displayed the student's work from the project in conjunction with a workshop for elementary teachers at the University of Wyoming Education Annex. Thanks Dr. Trent for inviting me to be part of this project.
