Claude Monet: The Truth of Nature

Pleased to be able to spend several hours at the Denver Art Museum on the 29th of December where we viewed the Claude Monet exhibit.  The curators did an excellent job in presenting Monet's work, starting with his early work and grouping work by locations where he lived or visited.  They also presented his ideas and process in an understandable and informative manner.  I was particularly excited to view his snow scenes, because I have been working to improve in this area.  Although he worked in oils and I do watercolor, I hope to apply some of the things that I learned from visiting the exhibit.

Red River Watercolor Society National Show

Thanks to juror Iain Stewart for selecting my watercolor painting "Winter's Solitude" as part of the 2019 Red River Watercolor Society's National Show.  An article by Chelsey Ewen entitled "Waterworks:  Annual exhibition celebrtates the art of water-based painting" published June 17th, quotes the RRWS president.  She states that the juror "sifts through hundreds of entries to find up to 50 pieces that they believe 'exemplifies the best watercolor work today'."  Honored to be among those whose work was selected for this national show.
