Red River Watercolor Society National Show

Thanks to juror Iain Stewart for selecting my watercolor painting "Winter's Solitude" as part of the 2019 Red River Watercolor Society's National Show.  An article by Chelsey Ewen entitled "Waterworks:  Annual exhibition celebrtates the art of water-based painting" published June 17th, quotes the RRWS president.  She states that the juror "sifts through hundreds of entries to find up to 50 pieces that they believe 'exemplifies the best watercolor work today'."  Honored to be among those whose work was selected for this national show.

Oxbow Bend Reflections

"Oxbow Bend Reflections" is one of two paintings that sold at the Nicolaysen Annual Art Auction in September.  Thank you to the folks who purchased my artwork, and to the Nic for hosting the event.  Oxbow Bend in late September/early October is one of the most spectacular scenes in the Tetons.

Moulton Barn, Grand Teton National Park

This watercolor painting "Moulton Barn" sold last week at Artisans' Gallery, along with two other paintings!  "Moulton Barn" was part of my 2016 Reimagine Wyoming show, featuring National Park landscapes and celebrating the centennial of the National Park Service, August 25, 2016.  The T.A. Moulton Barn is all that remains of the homestead built by Thomas Alma Mouton and his sons between about 1912 and 1945.  It sits west of the road known as Mormon Row, in an area called Antelope Flats, between the towns of Kelly and Moose.  Grand Teton National Park was established in 1929, but the valley of Jackson Hole remained in private ownership until the 1930's when conservationists led by John D. Rockefeller, Jr. began purchasing land in Jackson Hole to be added to the existing national park.  Much of Jackson Hole was set aside for protection in 1943.
