My watercolor painting "Red Rooster" was selected for the "New Frontiers" art show at the Cheyenne Frontier Days Old West Museum in Cheyenne, Wyoming. The opening reception is this Friday evening, November 4th, from 6 to 8 PM. The show will be open through December 4th, 2022.
About the Show: The New Frontiers Art Show will be a show that pushes the definition of Western Art and is accessible to all types of buyers, from those who are just starting to collect art, to collectors looking for something different. This show will be proof that everyone plays a role in our Western heritage, and will demonstrate to Museum visitors, art show patrons, guests, and our community that the West we honor is alive and evolving.
My watercolor painting, "Winter Visitor" has been selected for the 2022 Courage Kenny Card collection. Thanks to Laura M Gallery in Saratoga and a collector in Yarmouth, Maine, my watercolor painting "Medicine Bow Spring" has found a new home.
I have been teaching a watercolor class at the Eppson Center for the past eight months. We have studied value, color theory, and light and shadow, finishing up the class with a lesson on critiquing your own artwork. Pictured above is student work "Sunflowers". I felt it was time to get outdoors and enjoy summer before it passes. Thanks to a great group of folks for allowing me to share my passion for watercolor.
Pleased to have my painting of a Pacific Marten "Popping Over" awarded an Honorable Mention in the 2023 Wyoming Game and Fish Conservation stamp art contest. To see the other award winners, go to https://bit.ly/3vmmmQZ
